Hoods & Stacks
Contact for pricing and availability and to order.
A steam hood will capture the steam generated from the boiling maple sap within each pan of the maple syrup evaporator. A properly sized thimble is installed in the top of the hood to vent the steam through a stack that should be installed straight up through the roof until it clears the roof peak. Hoods are made to fit tight to the dimensions of the top of each pan, but in some cases are suspended slightly for easier access during evaporator operation.
Steam Hoods come with the following door configurations:
- Up to 6′ length : Full Access Doors with top hinge
- 7′ to 10′ length: 4 Doors, side hinge
Additional doors, lights and thimble damper may be added upon request.
Steam Hoods are required for proper use of a parallel flow pre-heater and Steam Hoods are required in some states for operating a certified maple sugar house.
Hoods ordered with a parallel flow preheater require 4 doors. Order enough Stack to clear roof peak.
